Colorado to Nebraska

Well we said goodbye to Nevada, and drove through Utah. Utah is a truly a unique state, because it is littered with amazing sandstone features like this one.

If we were in any other state these sandstone cliffs would be in a National park, but because we are in Utah these aren't anything special.

Mom wanted to show you her view of Dad driving...the following shots are totally candid!

After a day on the road we arrived at our hotel in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Glenwood Springs is know for its 94 degree (year round!) mineral hot springs, so after a dinner of taco salad we headed down to the springs for a dip. The springs are essentially a giant 5ft deep swimming pool which (and tastes very salty, I might add).

The next morning Dad and the girls decided to walk around the "Hotel Colorado" which happened to be right next door to our hotel. The Hotel Colorado was built in the mid 1800's and boasts of hosting such guests as Teddy Roosevelt and the "unsinkable" Molly Brown. A nice man from Wyoming took this picture of us in the central courtyard.

We set out from Glennwood springs by 10:30 and started our trek over the Rockies. When we were about halfway up we hopped out of the car for a quick snowball fight. The fight didn't last long, because we were all in flip-flops (or bare feet in Dad's case...and yes Corey, he's always bare footed...or feeted..or fetted?)

Frozen waterfalls aren't just on the Disneyland Matterhorn! We'd never seen the real things until Saturday.

We stopped for cocoa...

...and then continued on.

At around 3:00 we finally reached our destination...the crawfish feed at the M's house outside of Denver. This was a truly unique experience, and we are so excited to have shared in it (notice, Dad is documenting the whole event).

Here is Mr. C demonstrating how to suck the brains out of the crawfish...lovely!

After a wonderful weekend at the C's house we set out on Monday for Omaha. In Omaha we spent a fun evening with the Kaysers, and then drove all day to Peoria, IL today. Fun days ahead...
