Centerville and Hendersonville, goin' to Greenville

Why is it that every southern town ends in -ville? But that's a discussion for another time!
Let's begin with an apology, shall we? Sorry to all of our adoring fans for not posting in so long! Life has been great, computers have been horrible and the combination of those two has made posting very difficult. But enough with apologies...on to the pictures.

We took no photos at Presbytery again this year (sorry!), but this photo was taken at a little restaurant in Lake Geneva called Simple Cafe. I put this photo on the blog because this is the best sandwich I have ever eaten in my whole life. It was the Portobello sandwich with "...grilled portobellos, grilled red onion, tomato, mixed greens, goat cheese, overnight oven roasted tomato mayo served on toasted ciabatta bread." AMAZING!!!

Wednesday before Presbytery the Erber family took a group of about 40 people on a walking tour of Chicago. The day started at the train station in Harvard, IL. Here is our very happy group enjoying our ride down to the windy city.

This photo was taken in Chicago, but it's not of anything in particular... I just thought I'd throw it in here as a filler....

Now on to Centerville! We spent a day and a half in TN with the Lovett family, and one of the highlights of the day was the swim in the creek (or crick as we backwoodsmen call it!). The water was surprisingly refreshing and clean, and we enjoyed our afternoon.

After Centerville we drove on to Hendersonville to visit family. This is my cousin with hush-puppy glasses.

This photo was taken while walking around produce section of the local grocery store (which will remain unnamed). This is one of my favorite photos from the trip so far... can you see why?

How about now? I always knew it was one of the four food groups!

And finally, a video! This was filmed on the road between TN and NC.

More to come!

  3. Obviously NOT Whole Foods! The crick swimming looked fun. It's finally starting to warm up here, but not enough for me to swim. Miss all y'all. Can't wait until you are back in good old CA.
