The adventure begins

Well our adventure began on Sunday after church. The car was packed up, the food was made, and and after bidding adieu to Grandpa and Grandma K we hit the road.

Here you can see food being made (avocado sandwiches...YUM!).

Rach was dazed and confused with all of the frantic packing going on....I'm sensing fear behind those eyes...

Now really, how much stuff can you fit into a minivan?

Eve was ready to go hours before the rest of us.

Carl: "We should have been on the road by now."
Jen: "Are we really doing this again?"
Linds: "I hope we packed enough water."
Rach: "Kirsten, here we come!"
Eve: "Are we there yet?"

For the most part the trip down was uneventful (aside from feeling like one of the fastest drives down to L.A. we've made thus far), and we made it safely to Grandma C.'s house.

Monday was spent shopping for some much needed supplies, and attempting to overcome jet...I mean car lag :-) Dad set off to work right away, putting his new phone to work.

Tuesday the girls headed out to the beach. After driving down the coast a little ways to get out of the fog we ended up at a part of the beach which happened to be a surfer hangout. "Why did we stop at a surfer hangout," you ask? Well, it just so happens that this particular part of the coast looked like a good place to go hunting for shells. Here they are posing for a silly photo:

And this is what they did when I told them to act natural ;-)

After driving down the coast a little further we ended up at one of our former favorite hang outs.

Wednesday the girls and Grandma visited the Getty museum.

Surprisingly, the only charge to enter the Getty museum is the parking fee. The exhibits are beautiful and the buildings are amazing.

It's not every day that you get to stare at giant rugs hanging on walls.

They even had a small flower garden in which to take an afternoon stroll with your mother...

...or Grandmother.

Rach and Louis hung out for awhile....the girl is in pants and the boy is in a miniskirt, tights and red heels?

She looks very saintly, doesn't she?

We finally found someone skinner than Rachel!

L.A.'s out there somewhere

One final shot of the girls with Grandma.

Tomorrow it's off to Utah for another day of adventures. Stay tuned.

  5. (Third time's a charm at posting comments)

You guys actually posted! Looks like I've been missing out. That sand dune looked like a monster bit of desolation (the ocean looked better), but it was fun watching you guys go careening down it. Louis needs to work on his styling a little bit as well.

    Looking for more!

P.S. still expecting you guys to do a good job at ushering next Friday for Core and me... bouncing and everything thrown in. :)

We love documenting our travels for everyone! It is so fun to go back after the trip and look at everything we did.

All I can say is that no one could ever take your place...but we'll try it exactly as you showed us (that was an instructional video, right?).
