After Presbytery we headed up to Hendersonville, NC to spend some time with our cousins and grandparents. The first night we got there we were treated to a "program" which Meema and William had been working on. Both did a great job! Here is a sample of the show.
Here is Meema (or Mimi) with some of her youngest Grandchildren. This was taken after eating an amazing barbecue lunch.
Here are Eve and Will. These two enjoyed hours of playtime together each day, and both were sad when we had to leave.
Here is a prime example of the aforesaid play time. I'm not quite sure what the doctor is trying to fix here, but the patient looks pretty out of it!
Douglas is showing off some of his basketball skills here. Now all he needs are a hoop and some willing players. Can you guess which one will be harder to find?
On Friday we went and spent the day down in Greenville, SC. First, we spent a couple of hours touring the Bob Jones Museum of Art. The paintings and furniture were gorgeous, but the theology of some of the painters is pretty bad (unless you are Roman Catholic, of course, in which case it is just fine!). Then we headed over to visit Mom's sister's family. Eva and Uncle Jeff hit it off immediately. Don't be fooled, Eva deserved this.
We also got to meet cousin Scott's fiance, Merideth. Here is the happy couple.
This photo was taken with half of the Swiger family... three of the kids weren't present for this photo. Eva looks like something bit her.
Then we packed up and said goodbye to our Grandparents in NC, and headed back to Lookout Mountain for a few more nights. Here are Meema and Grandpa with some of their grand kids.
And finally, here are the Simons and Schroeder families. Don't we look cute!
We are on our way home now, so we'll post for the last time in a few days.
Out of this whole post, I like the last line the best. Woo-hoo, the Schroeder's are on their way home!!!
ReplyDeleteNice update and pictures!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip home! :-)
That's sad you'll be posting for the last time! I've enjoyed reading updates on your family! :-)
Much Love,
